David ArmstrongFounder and CEO of Earth Sea Sky and ESS Performance, David has an enviable background in business development and management within the adventure and fitness industry. David has extensive qualifications, skills and experience in organising and leading customised elite trekking, sailing and diving adventures worldwide. Specialising in tailored adventure programs that have meaning and transferability to sports performance, David has devleoped a range of elite team adventure programs that include a number of challenging elements designed to test player physical ability, whilst providing an environment conducive to developing mental toughness. Erin BruhnAs a Director of Earth Sea Sky and ESS Performance, Erin is responsible for the design and delivery of creative marketing campaigns across sports performance, sports medicine and adventure. Erin has 10 years experience in various commercial and Not for Profit business contexts. Her expertise lies in strategic marketing, management and coordination, membership management, revenue building and client relations. ESS is emerging as a benchmark company in elite training and adventure programs and continues to grow the business through targeted marketing and sales campaigns. Paul AdlerMelbourne based Paul Adler has been rock and ice climbing for the past 18 years. His credentials include technical mountaineering in the NZ Alps and trekking and climbing in Nepal, Argentina, Tanzania and Kazakhstan. He has successfully climbed the Maltebrum and Agile Rouge in NZ in 1993, Parchamo Mountain in Nepal in 1995, Aconcagua in1998, Mount Kilimanjaro to the Heim Glacier climbing the Barafu in 2002, Khan Tengri via the north side route over Chapayev in 2004, the Matterhorn Mt Blanc (Tres Monts Route) in 2005. Following an unsuccessful attempt on Mount Everest in 2006, having to turn back only 100 metres from the summit, Paul returned to Nepal in 2007 and conquered the summit via the south-west Ridge. Paul will lead clients on the Everest Base Camp and Beyond Base Camp Trekking adventures. His knowledge, climbing ability and years of experience will ensure ESS clients are lead on a memorable climbing adventure. Wayne RodgersWayne Rogers is a qualified and accredited Sports Physiotherapist and Personal Trainer with over 18 years experience in the health and fitness industry. He has been the physiotherapist for several national and international sports teams including the Australian Commonwealth Games Team and the Australian Netball Team. Based in Melbourne, Wayne is the Company Director of a successful physiotherapy and health coaching business. ESS clients wanting the best in one on one fitness consultations may also take advantage of Wayne's skills as a Personal Trainer. Wayne has trekked through the Nepalese Himalayas on 8 separate occasions and his adventurous spirit has taken him to Europe, South Africa, India and South East Asia. He has a passion for adventure and a special interest in developing high quality functional training programs for clients embarking on physically challenging travel experiences. In conjunction with ESS Principal David Armstrong, Wayne has applied his knowledge, skills and experience to the development of the most comprehensive pre-adventure training programs that are unique to ESS. Graeme KennedyGraeme is a personal trainer, health coach and massage practitioner with 12 years experience in the health and fitness industry. His adventure experience includes trekking in the Annupurna and Everest Base Camp regions of Nepal, National Parks of New Zealand and Hawaii's Napali Coast. ESS clients are able to take advantage of Graeme's knowledge, skills and experience to maximize their well being and enjoyment of any physical challenges they will encounter on their ESS adventure. Graeme holds a degree in Physical Education and a Diploma in Sports Recreation. He is an active sportsman and has competed in swim events in New Zealand and natural body building Victorian and Australian titles. He is passionate about empowering people to realize their potential based on greater understanding of healthy human function. David SturmerSapper Dave Sturmer was a National Serviceman from 1968 to 1970 Royal Australian Engineers ( RAE ). Dave Sturmer finished his Corp training in Dec 1968 at the School of Military Engineering, Casula Sydney. Dave was posted to 1Tp, 1st Field Squadron in April 1969 and served at the Battle of Binh Ba in June '69. On two seperate incidents Dave was injured by mines including an incident the day man landed on the moon. The song "I was only 19" is about that very incident and Dave reacted with absoulute bravery. ESS is lucky and proud to be associated with Dave who adds a new dimension to the Beyond Long Tan experience. Paul BeckAs a Dive Master and specialty diver, Paul has assisted David Armstrong in many adventures, expeditions and courses. As a skilled underwater cinematographer, he has produced some amazing underwater footage. ESS is thrilled that the memories of an ESS dive adventure will be expertly captured on film by Paul at no extra cost to our clients. Paul has logged 25 Antarctic dives and his dive master skills and diving experience make him an integral member of the ESS team. During Dive Antarctica 2005, Paul captured HDV amazing footage. Out of the water, Paul is a fulltime contract analyst programmer based in London |
