Clinical Pilates @ AAMI ParkImproving core strength & stability |

Pilates is a unique form of exercise focusing on the development of core strength, flexibility, torso stability and body awareness. Many exercise programs focus on developing strength in the arms and legs for example, without attending to the fact that these muscles are ultimately connected to the muscles of the central torso. Core stability depends on the strength of the deep internal muscles of the abdomen and back, working in tandem with more superficial muscles of the trunk to support the spine and movement. The principles and techniques of Pilates can be incorporated into any training program to maximise core strength and stability, improve flexibility and balance and prevent potential injury. Clinical Pilates @ AAMI Park is instructed by a qualified Physiotherapist. In these sessions your instructor will integrate the six core principles that are the foundation of any Pilates program: centering, concentration, control, precision, breath and flow, into your exercise program. Pilates is an appropriate exercise program for many people including athletes, pregnant women, the elderly and those in rehabilitation following injury, illness or surgery.
