The ESS Performance Athlete Development Scholarship (ADS) is an exciting initiative by ESS Performance, in partnership with Victoria University. The ADS is aimed at supporting 200 Victorian elite and developing athletes as they strive for excellence within their chosen sport. The ADS will enhance the education and training experience for students undertaking approved education and training programs, by providing access to state of the art facilities, high performance programs, sports medicine and personal development seminars and tutorials. Enrolment in an approved education and training program from the nationally endorsed Sport Fitness and Recreation Training Package with our education and training partners is a condition for awarding the scholarship.
Scholarship Benefits:
- Access to state of the art training and recovery facilities at AAMI Park Sporting Campus and the ESS High Performance Training Centre in Richmond
- Periodic functional movement assessments and consultations with ESS High Performance Trainers
- Periodic athlete testing to measure and record improvements
- Ongoing access to tailored high performance programs at AAMI Park focusing on explosive power, speed and agility, strength and conditioning, flexibility, injury prevention, functional resistance and advanced recovery
- Access to Sports Medicine, physiotherapy, osteopathy, remedial and sports massage and ESS leading Sports Medicine clinicians
- Personal and professional development seminars and tutorials at AAMI Park
- Online Athlete Profile
- Scholarship recipients receive an annual membership card for discounted services and products
- A nationally recognised and industry specific qualification
- The ADS is worth $20K per athlete per year
Expressions of interest are invited from Victorian athletes from all sporting backgrounds who meet the selection criteria. Scholarships are for a 12 month period but may be ongoing, commencing August 2011. Due to an overwhelming response, the application closing date has been extended to the 12th September 2011.
