ESS recognises the importance of education in developing successful athletes. In conjunction with our affiliated training organisations, the ADS includes education and training components that lead to a nationally recognised qualification. The course covers areas that will assist in the development of sport specific skills, customised to suit the needs of a range of different sporting codes at the elite professional level. Certificate IV in Sport and Recreation Designed to develop knowledge and skills across a broad range of technical and theory requirements, evaluation and coordination which will enable the athlete to capably perform a wide range of tasks and duties specialising in the sport and recreation areas. Certificate IV in Sport (Coaching) The course facilitates the development of knowledge and skills at the national level including: observation of athlete performance, teaching techniques, supervision of practice sessions and planning, conducting, evaluating and modifying individualised long term, high performance training programs. Certificate IV in Sport (Development) The course provides practical skills and knowledge to develop, coordinate, coach and officiate in a wide range of sports. Athletes will gain knowledge in sports science, sport psychology, nutrition, and planning and conducting training programs. Diploma of Sport Coaching A competency based qualification structured to produce a qualified coach capable of coaching and managing an elite athlete or club. Diploma of Sport (Development) A competency based qualification designed to reflect the role of team leaders and supervisors in the sporting industry sector, structured to assist the development of skills and knowledge that could lead to career opportunities in various sporting areas.
